About

Who's behind r00tcore?

My name is Mihnea Cătuneau. I've spent the last 5+ years working as a SOC Analyst — monitoring threats, hunting for anomalies, and responding to incidents that most people never hear about. I've seen breaches unfold in real time, tracked threat actors across infrastructures, and spent countless nights correlating logs that told stories nobody wanted to hear.

Security isn't just a job. It's a mindset. Once you start seeing the world through the lens of attack surfaces and threat vectors, you can't unsee it. Every system is a puzzle. Every network is a story waiting to be read.

r00tcore started as a personal need. I wanted one place where signal cuts through the noise — real cybersecurity news, research, and tools, without the corporate fluff, without the clickbait, without the watered-down takes.

No paywalls. No sponsored opinions. Just raw, honest security content from someone who lives it every day.

$ who is this for?

This site is for the analysts, the CTF players, the researchers, the red teamers, the blue teamers, and the students who stay up at 2AM reading CVEs just because they're curious. If you live and breathe security — you're home.
